    WPA Historical Survey: Popular (Poplar?) Grove was built in 1830. Located six miles NW of Falmouth off Route 616. The French family owned a number of slaves. A number of slaves worked in Richmond and would come home once a year which was Christmas. The slaves were named Parkers, Henry Cooke, Sam Jones and John Day.
