    Stafford County, WPA Historical Survey: Aquia Church est. 1751. Destroyed by fire and rebuilt in 1757. Three miles north of Stafford Courthouse off Route 1. The Rev. John Moncure is buried beneath the chancel. Contains silver communion service used since 1739 and two bibles dated 1806 and 1829. Initials of both northern and southern soldiers are carved into the corner stones of the church.
